This paper discusses the meaning of order in relation to architecture. This paper also looks at order in ancient art and the meaning and perception of order. Architecture is a reflection of the combination of spiritual and mortal associations with the physical environment. For this we look at order, we see the order of things is positively influenced by environment and time. In many instances, order is apprehended first of all by the senses. The observer perceives an organized structure in the shapes and colors or sounds facing him. In ancient times, temples housed images of the gods and were decorated with sculpture and paintings. Painting also flourished on vases, which were important articles of trade. Sculpture, inspired by the monumental stone sculpture of Egypt and Mesopotamia, the Greeks began to carve in stone. Freestanding figures share the solidity and frontal stance characteristic of Eastern models, but their forms are more dynamic than those of Egyptian sculpture, as for example the Lady of Auxerre and Torso of Hera.

150 Seven Habits for Life.
This paper is a review and analysis of the book "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People," bye Stephen Covey. This paper will highlight the important points in the book and give this writer's opinion on the seven habits. As the title of the book implies, Covey describes the seven habits of highly effective people and techniques for adopting the seven habits. Covey makes clear that an individual must make a paradigm shift before incorporating these habits into his/her own personal life. A paradigm is essentially the way an individual perceives something. (p. 22) Covey emphasizes that if we want to make a change in our lives, we should probably first focus on our personal attitudes and behaviors. He applies different examples via family, business, and society in general. This book's focal point is on an approach to obtain personal and interpersonal effectiveness. Covey points out that private victories precede public victories. He makes the example that making and keeping promises to ourselves comes before making and keeping promises to others.

212 George Friederich Handel: Under His Influence.
This paper summarizes the life and works of George Friedrich Handel. His influence not only on baroque has continued to resonate throughout the years. This paper attempts to illustrate his contribution and the mark he left on the world. George Friederich Handel is one good example of this. A look at the life of Handel illustrates both the mobility, and the influence of royal patronage on a composer typical of the baroque age. Handel's father intended him for the law, but his own musical inclinations soon prevailed. Following his studies in Germany and Italy, where he studied with Corelli, encountered and exchanged ideas with a number of other Italian composers, and may also have met Vivaldi in Venice on his return, he went to Hanover. There he was appointed Kapellmeister to the Elector of Saxony. The Elector soon became the King of England and Handel became successful in yet another part of Europe, London. Largely because of all his traveling, Handel was recognized in England as the greatest composer of his day.

456 Four Paradigms for Psychology.
This study guide examines the four basic paradigms of psychology and gives an example of each. It is told in the first person. Psychology is a very interesting thing and it is it has many different approaches. The people who support different schools of psychology believe that they have the right approach, but they really might not. There are so many ways to try and study human behavior and there is not one paradigm in psychology that has been able to completely prove that it is right and that it is the way to explain why people act the way that they do. But there are good things that can be taken from each approach to psychology and there are things that can be used from each one to put things together so that it is possible to have a real understanding of psychology and how people act.

476 The Paradigms of Psychology.
This study guide introduces the basic paradigms of psychology, gives an example of each, and offers the writer's opinion of their accuracy. It concludes that psychology is not a hard science. Psychology is not an absolute science like physics. It involves human behavior and human interactions and it is not always predictable. Unlike some other exact sciences, psychology has numerous approaches and theories relative to it that seek to explain human behavior or provide different perspectives on how to examine human behavior reactive to culture and biology. There is no one particular approach to psychology that can be deemed correct or more valuable then others, but the holistic approach is becoming quite popular and it may be among the most balanced of the paradigms for psychology.

486 An Analysis of The Shining.
This paper discusses Stanley Kubrick's film adaptation of Stephen King's novel The Shining. It provides a stunning example of how a great director is able to maximize the potential impact of the film medium. Through his use of recurring themes and a unique stylistic vision, Kubrick succeeds in putting a stamp of individuality on all his films. One theme that is prominent in The Shining is the passage of time. The significance of time, as an agent of constant change, is touched upon throughout the film in a variety of ways including the obvious and the subtle, beginning with the opening sequence in which we travel up the long, winding and foreboding mountain road to the Overlook Hotel. Subsequently, in his interview with the hotel manager, it is made clear to Jack that the job of being the off-season manager at the Overlook Hotel is not an easy or desirable task.
