This paper discusses Sister Callista Roy and her history as a nursing model. Her Adaptation Model had spread far and wide by 1981 and she and her colleagues started giving consultations to other schools on it. This paper is a detailed history and a predicted future of California's energy crisis. California's partially deregulated electric power industry has problems. Originally intended to reduce retail prices of electricity and improve the reliability of its delivery, the steps taken in California seem to have failed to meet both of these objectives. San Diego consumers' electricity bills soared beginning last summer as the rate freeze instituted as part of the state's deregulation plan came to an end for San Diego Gas and Electric Company (SDG&E) customers. Further north, rolling blackouts in California have left many businesses and homes without power for short periods, due to a shortage of power.

314 Hero Worship: The Good News and The Bad.
The focus of this paper is the sports hero in the American Culture. The days of Americans worshipping athletes like "Joltin' Joe" DiMaggio, and "Broadway" Joe Namath appear to be over, right? Well, not quite. Attendance numbers, television ratings and merchandise sales are at an all-time high in the sports industry. Fantasy sports leagues and home video games in which fans can manage or even be their favorite players are wildly popular with fans of all ages. And perhaps the most upsetting indication that hero worship is alive and well, is the fact that increasing numbers of young athletes are bypassing college in order to achieve their dream of playing professional sports. In turn, sports heroes themselves are getting younger and younger. In the following pages, I will discuss these disturbing trends more closely, by tracing their roots, examining the present state of affairs, and predicting the future of the sports hero.
