75 Marijuana Legalization: An Argument Against It.
This paper argues against marijuana legislation and explains why. Marijuana is the most commonly abused drug, but it doesn't really provide freedom from anything. It only adds the pressures and angst of life both physically and psychologically; this is why I'm against the legalization of it. The vast majority of people around the world oppose drug legalization. The use of illicit drugs is illegal because of their intoxicating effects on the brain, damaging impact on the body, adverse impact on behavior, and potential for abuse. Marijuana use threatens the health, welfare and safety of everyone and should not be legalized. If we legalize this substance we are encouraging and making available the use of a substance with harmful side affects. And aren't there enough of those out there already. Our people do not need any more ways to harm themselves or the society in which they live. Whenever persons are under the influence, they pose a threat to themselves and others. We don't need more intoxicated people on our streets, at public events, or driving on our highways.

753 Legalization of Drugs
It is very clear that society is unhappy with current efforts to stop illegal drug smuggling, drug use and distribution, no one in particular seems to know what should be done. With drug use and drug related crime on the rise, some people argue that current drug law is too easy on drug offenders. Society at large asks that whether the use of illegal drugs can ever be stopped. It is a question that unfortunately has no easy answer. More and more people in America feel that if this country cannot stop illegal drugs, drugs should be legalized and controlled. Many people feel that this will eliminate the senseless violence that often goes hand in hand with illegal drugs.

772 Marijuana legal or illegal
"The argument of legalizing marijuana or not is akin to the age-old battle of Creationism vs. Evolution. Everyone has his or her own opinion. Who is right?
