This paper is on customer service principles and practices of the Ultimate Beauty Center. It discusses the problems they were having and possible solutions. The Ultimate Beauty Center has had a relatively successful existence and share of the market in South Bend, Indiana, starting out as a small one-corner room facial beauty shop seven years ago. Since then, it gradually but steadily grew, sharing the market with only a few other shops in its immediate area, consisting of schools and offices. In the next 3 years, the hair and nail sections were added, and most of their customers were students and working women. Today, it has its own tastefully designed building with modern equipment and machinery, which have attracted an increasing number of customers from adjacent towns and states as well as problems resulting from the creation of a new and experimental department meant to handle customers' requirements.

63 Case Studies of Organizations Adopting New Technologies.
This paper is on case studies of organizations that adopt new technologies. The demand for technology service is booming. It's a $250 billion marketplace growing at more than 20% a year overall with growth rates in the Internet Services area exceeding 50% each year. (Bartlett, 2001) "Technology no longer just supports business strategy-it drives business strategy." Wireless technology is a business fact. It's the way forward-looking companies around the world are doing business today, and it's the way they will be doing business tomorrow. Global competition means that wireless technology is the way every surviving firm will be doing business tomorrow. Wireless companies need to advance the technology that their customers are looking for. They need to be specific in their choices. My research has shown me that technology is all about the customers and the technology users and less about the companies providing the services.

167 Field Artillery in the Civil War.
There were two distinct types of artillery units in the Civil War; Heavy (or Foot) Artillery, and Light (or Field) Artillery. This paper will define these units of artillery and their uses in the Civil War. The Civil War is many times referred to as the first "modern" war, one in which the armies were broken into specialized arms. General Henry H. Hunt, a West Point graduate and career artillery officer, had advocated that Artillery should be a separate arm, like Cavalry, for many years prior to the war. In 1858, he was one of three officers chosen to rewrite the Field Artillery Manual, and defined that the service of batteries assigned to brigades of Infantry or Cavalry was subordinate to the operation of the unit, but that the Artillery Reserve was a distinct arm of battle, commanded by it's superior officer, under the immediate orders of the general commanding.

249 Palestrina and the Counter-Reformation.
This paper is written on the greatest composer of all times - Palestrina. Palestrina, thought by many to be the greatest composer of all time, was born in Palestrina in 1514 or 1515 according to Baini, Riemann, and others. According to Haberi, he died in February 2, 1594 in Rome, though his early history is virtually unknown. A manuscript in the Vatican relates that a young Palestrina sang in the streets of Rome while offering for sale the products of his parent's farm. On such occasion, he was heard by the choirmaster of Santa Maria Maggiore, who was impressed with the boy's beautiful voice. He pronounced his musical talent and educated him musically. He was a pupil of Mallapert and Firmin Lebel at St. Maria Maggiore, Rome, where he was a choirboy from at least 1544. In 1547, he married Lucrezia Gloria; they had three children.

430 Solving the Hunger Problem.
This narrative tells an American woman's story of opening and running a food bank to solve her personal hunger problem. It shows creativity and personal strength. The food service she opened was in Vancouver, Washington. In 1997, the United States Department of Agriculture stated that there was no hunger in America. I knew that this statement was false. Why, because I was hungry. With no job, a recent long-term illness, and a failing marriage to a man who refused to contribute to his family, I often saw the refrigerator empty. My health did not allow me to gain full?time employment, but I knew I had to do something about my plight. I solved my problem by starting a food pantry to feed my family and other families with similar problems. However, even though my food pantry would become a model for feeding the hungry, I would experience nothing but resistance to my efforts.

646 Hospitals and Rights As Patients.
Every hospital should not have the legal right to deny seriously ill and injured the patients the care needed for a stable recovery. If they do, they will be fined or lose privileges from Medicare services. A young woman had high fever of 104* F. and was doubled over in pain. Her husband took her to the nearest hospital that was privately owned. They asked for insurance papers and the couple stated that they did not have insurance, because his work did not provide insurance for the family. The couple sat in the waiting room for over three hours to see the doctor. Finally, the husband asked why they had not been seen because several people had been seen with less weight time. They were told that they probably would not get service because they did not have any insurance. The young couple left to go to another hospital, but on the way the young woman died from a busted gallbladder.
