This paper discusses Costa Rica in the present times and the problems that they have. The Republic of Costa Rica in Central America lies between Nicaragua and Panama and has the Caribbean Sea and the North Pacific Ocean on its borders. Its total area is 51,100 square kilometers where 50,660 square kilometers are land. It is considered a success story for achieving a relatively high standard of living within the last two decades, although remaining a largely agricultural society. Per 2001 estimates on age structure, 31.38% of the population is 14 years old and below (606,000 male and 106,000 female); 63.3% is 15-64 years old (1.209,000 male and 1,182,000 female); and only 5.25% is 65 years old and over (92,314 male and 106,000 female). 92 Willa Cather.
This paper is on Willa Cather. These stories tell us that there are as many kinds of rebellions as there are rebels - in different strata of society and in different times. Some rebel against the external world, some, against the inner world, although all rebellion is inherently internal or inner. Trevor seems to have become a rebel because of peer pressure, especially among the poor. Gangs form because there is nothing more gainful or meaningful to do, as in the case of Womrsley Common Gang of London. The young, especially, must acquire a sense of identity and belonging, no matter what identity or belonging it is. Trevor submits himself to the humiliation of initiation, especially because of his shy nature. He has relished the bright idea of burglarizing the rickety house of Old Misery and it becomes his passport to leadership in this thugs' association. Life is as simple but unsatisfying and dangerous to other youngsters living on the social and economic edge of society, like Trevor.

115 Conversion.
This paper focuses on the lives, passions and destinies of Dorothy Day and Saint Augustine of Hippo have close resemblances and are strikingly parallel. They were both born into comfortably well-off families: Augustine's in Tagaste (a city in what is now Algeria), where his father was a city official; and Dorothy's in Brooklyn, New York. Both were in search of something they vigorously sought from their youth, and both had strong links with their parents: Augustine with his saintly mother, Monica, and Dorothy, with her father John Day. And both of them were endowed with the capability to achieve their pursuit: Augustine received a Christian education, although his father was baptized into Christianity only before his death; and Dorothy spontaneously found serenity and beauty in the desolate and drab streets of Chicago's south side at the time (Forest). Both possessed sharp intellect and unbreakable will. Even their timelines are parallel: Augustine was converted and baptized into Christianity when he was 33 years old and died when he was 76 years old (Knight); Dorothy was received into the Catholic Church at 30 years old and died at 75 (Forest).

415 Sally Mann and His Photography.
This paper discusses the photographer Sally Mann. Mann's photographs have often been regarded as controversial, and have evoked praise as well as condemnation and debate whenever they've been exhibited. Her large black and white prints, all shot with a more than hundred year old 8x10 camera, focus on her own family, her children and friends growing up in her home state of Virginia, observations of her environment, interactions of time and place, and of family and friends. Her work displays an intimacy and casualness, captured extraordinarily by the large format camera. Upon seeing her work for the first time, one may describe the images as "haunting", "comforting", or "disturbing". But no matter one's opinion of the work, few walk away from her images untouched.

475 The Pancake House.
This basic descriptive essay describes a restaurant called The Pancake House. Many people believe that a restaurant is a restaurant, but this is not true. I have been to many different restaurants in the United States, form the fanciest to the simplest and I have to say that the Pancake House is the best. The Pancake House is a family owned business that serves breakfast only. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday and I often go out of my way to go as often as I can. The Pancake House is really more than a restaurant to me. It is like visiting home. The restaurant is located in an old house. The owner once told me that the home belonged to his grandfather and when the city rezoned the area commercial they turned it into a restaurant. However, being a small house it became a small restaurant. The Pancake House seats only about 50 people and often it is so crowded that the patrons have to take a number to be able to get a seat.

610 An Analysis of Fences.
This paper discusses August Wilson's play, Fences. It is An All-American tale of broken dreams and regret. Wilson's protagonist, Troy Maxson, is a former Negro League baseball standout who was born too early and was too old to ever have a shot at the Majors once Jackie Robinson broke the league's color barrier. As a result, his life has turned into one long, torturous "what if". Set in Pittsburgh in 1957, Fences is much more than one man's tale. Troy Maxson represents a generation of African-American men who were born on the cusp of opportunity, just a little too early to reap the full rewards of their forefathers' struggles.
