42 William Shakespeare.
This paper is a biography of William Shakespeare. He may be lauded as the author of popularly admired literature done by any individual in the history of Western civilization. (Grolier 1996) He may be the most influential writer in all of English literature or the most important dramatis and poet of the English Renaissance. (Spark notes) But William Shakespeare will still be, to most, the greatest playwright of all time. He was, in fact, a public and critical success (Spark Notes) in the field of theater, particularly as a favorite of both Elizabeth I and James I who reigned in succession (1558- 1603 and 1603-1625, respectively), King James granting Shakespeare's company with the royal status as king's players. For this, Shakespeare was immensely popular and wealthy till his death in 1616, but such popularity cannot compare with that which has survived him today and not just in England, but also throughout the world.

45 The Drama.
This paper is written about drama and Hamlet's Character. William Hazlitt largely comments on the contemporariness and universality of Hamlet's character: that although Shakespeare wrote the play more than 500 years ago, we have come to know the character of the tragic Prince quite well. Not only because we read about him in school, but also - and more - because we know his thoughts as we do our own. (Hazlitt 1900) His sayings and speeches are not only real but are as real as our own thoughts when we ponder and despair over our or others' misfortunes and grief. Each of us becomes Hamlet, in Hazlitt's view, whenever we bear the weight of reflection (Hazlitt), when the sun in us is made dim by "envious mists" in our hearts, whenever the world looks nothing better than a "dull blank", when our love is despised, or when sadness sticks to us and makes our mind sink within.

74 Othello: A Man of Great Power and Weakness.
This paper is on Othello from Shakespeare. Othello will forever go down in the books as one of Shakespeare's most remarkable characters. Not only did he enjoy great success on the battlefield, but also he gained much respect in Venice as a most powerful general. "The Moor's military proficiency placed him in a class by himself in the same way his ethnicity distinguished him from his Venetian counterparts." (Harbage, 1964) He was a Black Moor but celebrated for the simplest things about him. In the end, it is those simple qualities; the romantic and aspect about himself, that eventually bring him to his end. In the play, he's a warrior; he's the epitome of a professional soldier. He risks his lifetime again in the war against the Turks. For Othello, the war is not simply a job or a task; it's a way of life. But Othello is also a common man, despite his great expertise as a soldier. Othello won great respect and admiration for many noble reasons, but it was mostly for his amiable personality and kindness that seemed endless. Othello achieves great satisfaction in his life, in part because of the power and respect he receives from others. His public image is one of great dignity and nobility; everyone seems to admire him. The Venetian senate unanimously approved of him.

84 Commonalities In 3 Shakespeare Plays.
This paper discusses the commonalities in 3 different Shakespeare plays. Macbeth" is a largely supernatural story. The prophecies of the witches, the hallucinations of both Macbeth and Lady Macbeth before and after the murders stand out powerfully in the play to bring out what the human mind is capable of conceiving and what the human will is capable of choosing. Lady Macbeth speaks the latter lines while she sleepwalks, and even then, she refuses rationalizes that they have nothing to fear because no one else knows about the murder they committed. She also blames the king for having "so much blood in him" that it spills into her hands. But it is at this point that Lady Macbeth loses her mind. If in "Macbeth," the supernatural is used by Shakespeare to predict, to warn and to torture the conscience of the guilty, he uses it in "Hamlet" as an ally that seeks revenge. In "King Lear," the supernatural is utilized by Shakespeare to picture the magnitude of the king's indignation, the depth of his sorrow and the extent of his depression in a way that the reader can imagine or personally experience.

128 Othello.
This paper is about the battles of Othello. Othello is an accomplished military leader who has the trust and admiration of the duke and the senate, as well as that of Desdemona and her father, Brabantio. But his greatest battle and tragic failure takes place within him, his weakness of character, especially his response to the temptations of jealousy by the vile promptings of Iago, his ensign. Othello is prepared for the most difficult fights with strong opponents, but not when his opponent is his own reaction. Despite his high rank in the military and the Venetian society, Othello remains insecure within himself and suddenly realizes his small self-regard when Iago dubiously suggests that fresh, young and beautiful Desdemona and his newly stalled lieutenant Cassio are having a secret love affair.

240 Keeping Shakespeare Moving.
This paper discusses Shakespeare's Work. Shakespeare's work has made the jump from page to screen more than a few times. People enjoy Shakespeare for a variety of reasons. Some people enjoy reading Shakespeare; others are used to enjoying the amount of Shakespeare a filmmaker can fit into a two-hour film. Whether on film or in print, anyone who enjoys Shakespeare knows that imagination is key to enjoying it. But there are differences between the choices of experiencing Shakespeare. With a book, you can pause and come back to it later; you can digest it at your own pace. You can also reread certain passages and study the text more intensely than you can actors in a film. A lot of Shakespeare's speeches state the same thing several ways, so that the audience at a live performance can catch what's going on. When reading that speech, you can enjoy the entire thing without worrying about keeping up.
