A Study on the Merits of Qualitative and Quantitative Methods of Research in Education.
This study will critically evaluate how the educational process can be researched using the common qualitative and quantitative methods available in today's world. By showing how each can compliment each other, we can learn just how the use of statistics and numerical calculations, as well as behavioral and phenomenological studies can help, as a whole determine educational standards. With the different methods, which are very numerous at hand, we learn just how some of the research processes can bring about a clear understanding on how these options work in gathering data in education. Perhaps with a good idea of how these forms of research work together, we can learn the merits of these formal information-gathering methods that prove so well founded.
This six-page paper is a critique of the article by Walton. It mainly concentrates on theoretical content since that is the main problem. The other serious problem is methodology, caused by lack of theory.

The paper will begin with an overview of the importance of human capital in economic growth theory. Upon this foundation, a comparative analysis will be given of the role of education in explaining economic growth in advanced and developing countries. In the final analysis, it will be argued that education and human capital are critical determinants of economic success. But not only is it the incidence of education but the quality of education that is important. Focusing on a qualitative comparison of education systems is beyond the scope of this paper, but it is recommended as an important subject for future study. 26 pgs. 42 f/c. 17b.

Women are disadvantaged in marriage and in the workplace and underrepresented in the political arena. The roots of this bias are deeply ingrained in Canadian society. Further, overcoming this bias demands fundamental changes in the type of government intervention designed to address it. 15 pgs. Bibliography lists 15 sources.
