16888 Museum Review: San Diego Museum of Man: Inuit Exhibit
For this assignment, I visited the San Diego Museum of Man. For several reasons, all personal and esthetic, I chose to visit and focus on the Inuit exhibit. The setting is really very fitting for the general subject matter of all of the exhibits in the building. In fact, the environment seems to develop in much the way as man has developed (as depicted) in this truly anthropological museum. Clearly, the curator has striven to give each exhibit it’s own place in time in relation to others, but also to isolate it just enough architecturally from the rest of the museum so as to highlight the fact that it is genuinely unique. The overall effect is that one can truly feel like an immersive time-traveller in this museum.

153 California's Energy Crisis.
This paper is a detailed history and a predicted future of California's energy crisis. California's partially deregulated electric power industry has problems. Originally intended to reduce retail prices of electricity and improve the reliability of its delivery, the steps taken in California seem to have failed to meet both of these objectives. San Diego consumers' electricity bills soared beginning last summer as the rate freeze instituted as part of the state's deregulation plan came to an end for San Diego Gas and Electric Company (SDG&E) customers. Further north, rolling blackouts in California have left many businesses and homes without power for short periods, due to a shortage of power.

433 Media and the Culture.
This paper discusses how toxic popular culture can be. School shootings in Littleton, Colorado and San Diego are only the most recent reminders that something is deeply amiss in our media age. Violence and explicit sexual content in television, films, music, and video games have escalated sharply in recent years. Children of all ages are now being exposed to a barrage of images and words that threaten not only to rob them of normal childhood innocence, but also to distort their view of reality and even undermine their character growth. . So the question becomes, isn't Hollywood merely providing a product for which there is great public demand? Isn't the consumer at least partly to blame for the problem? Lest anyone forget that Hollywood is, after all, a business community based on dollars and cents, and like any business caters its product to public demand.
