Math Manipulation Among Young Students: Perceptions of Concrete Methods of Addressing Mathematics as Opposed to Traditional Methods.

This paper concludes that utilizing math manipulatives helps to create a transitory means of identifying mathematical problems in contrast to a young student in the second grade being asked to abandon concrete math images, therefore increasing the overall understanding of mathematics among younger students.

This is a book report on Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. It is a biographical account of her family. In the book, her father Amos Bronson is Mr. March and her mother Abigail May is Marmee, while her older sister Anna is Meg and younger sisters Lizzie and May are Beth and Amy, respectively. And Louisa May is the lead character, Josephine or Jo March, the second daughter. The novel, published in 1868-1869, made Alcott a major author of her era. Alcott's portrayal of 19th-century domestic life is outdated, but she will always be remembered for her courageous and realistic expression of the maturing adolescent. Her "Little Women" significantly infused sensitive portrayals of this kind into the ordinary and formal types of juvenile literature offered in her time.

Japan's prosperity derived from foreign trade, through which it developed into an industrialized state and a key figure in international trade. It was the imbalance between its export and import that brought trouble and weakened its economy in the 90s.

This paper answers three questions. Question one addresses Ferry's theory of civilization and his belief that there are inferior races, and he suggests that the superior races have a duty to make it all fit. The second question addresses the question on what is the Third Estate. The Third Estate is the work that sustains a society. The Third Estate is needed to complete a nation. The Third Estate is a little bit of everything, It's the land and the water; it's the people living under the common law of the nation; it's the hard work and labor that goes into maintaining the land; it's the laws of the countryside; it's the merchants that sell goods. The Third Estate is ominous; it's necessary to a nation. The third question is to pretend that you are Spencer. This is the part of the program that is most striking to me. The diffusion of education is at the heart of this matter. The hard-worked and overburdened are the most educated; while the under-utilized person who wants to be educated and wants to work is not being used at all.

144 The Atlanta Exposition Address.
The paper is a critical analysis of T. Booker's address at the Atlanta Exposition. This paper intends to analyze the goals of his speech and understand the man behind the words. Georgia meant to attain at least three goals. The first was of course the most clear-cut, that of winning white advocates that would sponsor his cause. The second was that behind the purpose of the trickery itself, advancing his fellow brothers. Trying to bypass whites' mindset and actually making whites help the black cause. And the third and last but not least important was that of delivering a moral speech on dignity and pride for both blacks and whites. All these three goals show Booker T. Washington's aims, by means of trickery. We can see he was been a strategist in dealing with the Negro problem, finding a way more subtle but still powerful enough to accomplish his goals, the goals of all leaders that fight for the cause of the Negro. Washington's trickery pretended to fool the white, but in a courteous manner. The lesson to be learned here follows that we must learn not to judge a person by what he or she portrays but by what his real intentions are behind all that nicely sounding cover, for no matter how a thing looks, looks are not all one gets.

This paper looks at the book Push, by Sapphire. In this analysis, the details of race, gender, and social injustice will be looked at, as well as an overall review of this book. The novel Push, by Sapphire, portrays an American Experience that most people are not familiar with. Push is the story of a young girl, Precious Jones, who must deal with a lot of negative situations that are associated (stereotyped) with life in Harlem. One of the perceptions of street life in a poor urban area is teenage pregnancy; by the age of sixteen precious is expecting her second child. Both of her children were fathered by her own father as he repeatedly raped Precious.
