74 Othello: A Man of Great Power and Weakness.
This paper is on Othello from Shakespeare. Othello will forever go down in the books as one of Shakespeare's most remarkable characters. Not only did he enjoy great success on the battlefield, but also he gained much respect in Venice as a most powerful general. "The Moor's military proficiency placed him in a class by himself in the same way his ethnicity distinguished him from his Venetian counterparts." (Harbage, 1964) He was a Black Moor but celebrated for the simplest things about him. In the end, it is those simple qualities; the romantic and aspect about himself, that eventually bring him to his end. In the play, he's a warrior; he's the epitome of a professional soldier. He risks his lifetime again in the war against the Turks. For Othello, the war is not simply a job or a task; it's a way of life. But Othello is also a common man, despite his great expertise as a soldier. Othello won great respect and admiration for many noble reasons, but it was mostly for his amiable personality and kindness that seemed endless. Othello achieves great satisfaction in his life, in part because of the power and respect he receives from others. His public image is one of great dignity and nobility; everyone seems to admire him. The Venetian senate unanimously approved of him.

86 Philosophy and Utopia.
This paper is a mixture of philosophy and Utopia. Portuguese traveler Raphael Hythloday tells Thomas More and Peter Giles about the ideal conditions and institutions of the inhabitants of the island called Utopia in the isthmus, which he boasts are far better than those in England at that time. Hythloday describes this society as based on rational thought, communal property, optimum productivity, no class distinctions, no greed for wealth or money, no poverty, a minimum of crime and immorality. Although the men dominate Utopia and women are politically powerless and without identity, women are considered privileged and enjoy greater advantages in it than those in England.

95 Evolutionary Models of Antibiotic Resistance.
This paper discusses evolutionary models of antibiotic resistance. Antibiotics are defined as drugs that fight infections (CancerWEB's On-line Medical Dictionary 1998). An infection, in turn, is the invasion and multiplication of harmful microorganisms in the body, whether in one place (localized), temporary, persisting, extensive or systemic, depending on the body's resistance and tolerance. Infection is one of the causes of disease, a condition, which is characterized by identifiable group of signs and symptoms (Lexico Publishing Group, LLC 2003). Antibiotics are effective only against infections caused by bacteria, a class or kind of microorganisms.

126 Samuel Beckett.
This paper focuses on Samuel Beckett. Samuel Beckett, well-known poet, playwright and novelist on the absurd, was born on Good Friday of 1906 in Foxrock, Dublin in Ireland. He belonged to a middle class Protestant family and sent to the famed Port Royal School in Enniskillen (today Northern Ireland) and to Trinity College in Dublin. He excelled in sports and showed no indications of the bottomless gloom that would characterize his later life and literary works. At the age of 17, he met and got close to Dante, a lifetime literary friend, who figured in Beckett's early works. He was an excellent student of French and Italian at Trinity College, where he also won a prestigious scholarship at the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris.

135 Anne Bradstreet.
This is a paper on Anne Bradstreet who was a poet that was deeply attached to her loved ones. A strong connection existed between she and her father, her husband, he children. Her poems illustrate the greatness of her love for her husband; she gives light to a love that withstands time and distance. Everything she wrote was with only the strongest of feelings. Most of her works were written after the death of her father. Perhaps Bradstreet experienced greater freedom to express her deepest personal feelings in her work after his death. During these years, she wrote primarily about her domestic life and her spiritual experiences. Poetry writing enabled Bradstreet to endure the conflicts of her middle years when her affections were not sufficiently weaned from her family to permit her to put the demands of God first. Her craft also made it easier to accept the periods of isolation during her husband's frequent and sometimes long absences while he was on business for the church.

151 Literacy in the Aegean Bronze Age.
This paper discusses the Aegean Bronze Age. Anthropologists and archaeologists call certain societies "iron age" or "bronze age." In doing this they recognize that the properties of the main metal used by a society's technology greatly affect both its use and through this the nature of that society. For instance, bronze unlike iron is too soft to be used for ploughing; it is an alloy. Bronze can be smelted at lower temperatures than iron, which need specialized supplies of charcoal. All these facts affect societies, which use bronze and iron. For example, since bronze cannot be used for ploughing these societies cannot produce in many regions the large agriculture surplus iron societies can; since bronze requires tin bronze age societies had to trade, etc. (Claiborne, 1974) I believe the same parallel exists between the different characteristics of different writing systems and its use as a communication technology in a society.
