This paper argues for the death penalty. The imposition, abolition or return of the death penalty has been an unsettling issue among the world's peace-loving nations over the years in the universal desire to control criminality and promote maximum peace and security in human society. Although strictly imposed in ancient times, capital punishment has been, in recent years, openly and indignantly questioned and condemned by certain organizations and abolished in some countries for certain reasons. These reasons we will consider and attempt to reconcile, as far as possible, with those that favor it.

129 A Good Life: Newspapering and Other Adventures.
This is a book report on "A Good Life: Newspapering and Other Adventures." A book about a newspaperman who wanted to make a presence in print. "Newsmakers are increasingly liars," the author states from the very beginning, and the CIA make a mess when they "try to make things happen." (Bradlee, 1995) These are strong statements, which seemed to be the thesis and central theme throughout the book. Many people would say the same thing about the press, too. Mr. Bradlee has lots of strong opinions about several different topics, but pay attention because they sometimes change. It is odd that Bradlee never blames the press itself for the growth of the celebrity culture that he laments. But he brags about wanting anyone and everyone to talk about his paper. I enjoyed this book for it's look inside the life of a journalistic, but I believe another book could have done it without all the frills.

169 Computer Hacking: A Crime of Today's World.
This paper is on computer hacking - a crime of today's world. Computer hacking and the crimes that define this type of criminal, make hacking difficult to define. According to Carter (2002), "Computer hacking always involves some degree of infringement on the privacy of others or damage to computer-based property such as files, web pages or software." Computer hacking can range from the placing of pornographic pictures on a website to cracking a code that puts the security of millions of Americans at risk. Sometimes it involves stolen identities; other times it's just the ripping off of DVD movies and other media. Hackers themselves also come in as many forms as their crimes do. Hackers are the criminals of today's technological world. This paper will attempt to illustrate just what a hacker is, what this criminal does, and how the laws need to become steeper in order to stop these types of computer crimes for causing the damage they do.

177 Davidson and the Existence of Conventional Language.
This paper is written about Donald Davidson and the existence of conventional language. In his essay "A Nice Derangement of Epitaphs," Davidson defends the highly controversial thesis that 'there is not such a thing as a language, not if a language is anything like what many philosophers and linguists have supposed' and that 'we should give up the attempt to illuminate how we communicate by appeal to conventions'. It falls beyond the scope of this paper to evaluate Davidson's arguments for this thesis. Its point will be to defend the plausibility of its conclusion against the widely held view that the rejection of languages is clearly false, or even absurd.

285 Ichobod Crane in Sleepy Hollow.
This is a book report on Washington Irving's "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow." In the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, it is Ichobod Crane, of all characters, that Irving would have us follow. It is through his eyes that we see the countryside, view the village people, grow the attachment to at the heart of the story. Ichabod, the instructor of the children, the likeable man, the friend of all in Sleepy Hollow. A tall man with long arms and legs; his schoolhouse a low building with but one room. The master of the schoolhouse, he "urged some tardy loiterer along the flowery path of knowledge." Often the playmate of the larger boys, he spent many afternoons as a companion to the locals. Often in search of pretty sisters or housewives known for their "comforts of the cupboard."

329 An Analysis of Into the Woods.
This paper discusses the fairy tale musical, "Into the Woods." One of the many brilliant Sondheim lyrics in Into the Woods sums up this thesis better than I ever could. In the show's Finale, the Company sings, "Careful the wish you make, Wishes are children. Careful the path they take - Wishes come true, Not free" (136). What we wish for isn't always necessarily what we really want, but sometimes it takes a wish coming true to come to that realization.

To accomplish this, Fisher stresses that leadership must exist at every level of the organization, from top-level management to the self-directed work team level. Fisher examines the challenges, intricacies, and rewards of changing from traditional supervisors (which he characterizes as "Endangered Species") to self-directed work team leaders, and focuses on hundreds of practical techniques for developing the business, interpersonal, and technical capabilities of self-directed work teams. He explains step-by-step how to master crucial team leadership skills, such as coaching, business analysis, barrier busting, facilitating groups, customer advocacy and accessing information.
