129 A Good Life: Newspapering and Other Adventures.
This is a book report on "A Good Life: Newspapering and Other Adventures." A book about a newspaperman who wanted to make a presence in print. "Newsmakers are increasingly liars," the author states from the very beginning, and the CIA make a mess when they "try to make things happen." (Bradlee, 1995) These are strong statements, which seemed to be the thesis and central theme throughout the book. Many people would say the same thing about the press, too. Mr. Bradlee has lots of strong opinions about several different topics, but pay attention because they sometimes change. It is odd that Bradlee never blames the press itself for the growth of the celebrity culture that he laments. But he brags about wanting anyone and everyone to talk about his paper. I enjoyed this book for it's look inside the life of a journalistic, but I believe another book could have done it without all the frills.

177 Davidson and the Existence of Conventional Language.
This paper is written about Donald Davidson and the existence of conventional language. In his essay "A Nice Derangement of Epitaphs," Davidson defends the highly controversial thesis that 'there is not such a thing as a language, not if a language is anything like what many philosophers and linguists have supposed' and that 'we should give up the attempt to illuminate how we communicate by appeal to conventions'. It falls beyond the scope of this paper to evaluate Davidson's arguments for this thesis. Its point will be to defend the plausibility of its conclusion against the widely held view that the rejection of languages is clearly false, or even absurd.

329 An Analysis of Into the Woods.
This paper discusses the fairy tale musical, "Into the Woods." One of the many brilliant Sondheim lyrics in Into the Woods sums up this thesis better than I ever could. In the show's Finale, the Company sings, "Careful the wish you make, Wishes are children. Careful the path they take - Wishes come true, Not free" (136). What we wish for isn't always necessarily what we really want, but sometimes it takes a wish coming true to come to that realization.

654 Cause And Effect.
This paper discusses the cause and effect relationship. To set up a cause and effect relationship, initially, you have to be capable to show that your cause occur prior to your effect. Just by virtue of showing that there is a relationship does not mean it is a causal one. It is likely that there is some other variable or element that is causing the result. Numerous writers use an outline to help them ponder through the different stages of the writing process. An outline is a kind of graphic design of the organization of your paper. It testifies the principal arguments for your thesis as well as the subtopics under each principal point.

SpyWare also known as "adware" is a hidden software program that transmits user information via the Internet to advertiser in exchange for free downloaded software. Forget surveillance cameras, now your every action online could be being recorded without your explicit consent. This practice must be brought out into the open, so that you have a choice before giving out highly personal information. That's what this issue is primarily about choice and awareness. It has been confirmed that software companies who denied their software was even able to forward personally identifying information were not telling the truth. Using combinations of Machine and MAC address codes you can be tracked.
1511 A Question of Desire: The Priority of Love Over Friendship.
The Roman politician and philosopher Cicero, in his writings on friendship, conceived of it as being a high-order relationship; a relationship that was so intense and personal that it seems, in his view, to be more important than any other human bond. However, Cicero was a philosopher and, as such, was honour bound to give consideration to opposing arguments. One view of friendship in particular - what may be termed the cynical or realistic thesis - caused him great difficulty in his discussion. From this perspective, friendship is nothing more than a mode of exchange or an association between two parties for mutual profit or benefit. In this paper we will examine the reasons behind Cicero's difficulty in dismissing this counter-definition of friendship. As a counterpoint to Cicero's view of friendship, we will analyze the depiction of love in the love poetry of John Donne. 5 pgs. 10 f/c. 2b.

1635 Sexuality as a Site of Power and Politics.
Foucault's basic thesis was that sexuality has been historically constructed by "sexologists" who have attempted to make sexuality their own privileged center of knowledge. Foucault's views were connected to the issue of sexuality being the site of power in the sense that it brought to light that sexuality in general was defined by certain forces. The interest of this paper is how these forces have shaped sexual identity in the context of sexual inequality. Thus, while Foucault concentrated on how society historically tried to define the "abnormality" in sexuality, this paper's interest in the connected issue of how these forces simultaneously worked to disempower women for the sake of exploitation. 5 pgs. 8 f/c. 3b.
